"It was so cool to see the look on our students’ faces as they felt what it was like to be a scuba diver and explore the ocean around them." - Oak Class Newsletter

Through a partnership with the "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County, Ocean First Institute's Director of Outreach and conservation biologist, Lauren Riegler, visited with students from Columbine Elementary over four weeks to connect the scholars with marine life and issues facing our planet today. Topics included sea turtles, sharks, plastic pollution, and ocean exploration. Students were able to touch real shark jaws, dissect albatross boluses, and even go on virtual dives through the waters of Indonesia! We were thrilled to be a part of this incredible program and truly enjoyed being able to share the wonders of our ocean with these curious scholars.
