Jayden Miller

Honors Undergrad CU Boulder
Jayden is an undergraduate researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder, pursuing a dual degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Environmental Studies. Though she grew up in Denver, Colorado, Jayden’s passion for marine conservation, and sharks in particular, was sparked early and explored through experiences at the Denver Aquarium and SeaCamp in San Diego, California.

Jayden’s research background is diverse, spanning from the Mississippi Sound to the tropics. After interning with the Institute of Marine Mammal Studies to study bottlenose dolphin populations, she joined the Gil Lab at CU as a research assistant, focusing on collective behavior and sociality in tropical marine fish. She also contributes to the Johnson Lab, investigating the behavioral impacts of Black Spot Syndrome.

In the summer of 2026, Jayden will join the Rutgers RIOS REU program to utilize AI in modeling marine mammal habitat use off the coast of New Jersey. She is currently partnering with Dr. Mikki McComb-Kobza for her Honors Thesis and is thrilled to collaborate with the OceanFirst Institute to research and protect the marine species she has spent her life admiring.
