In-Person School Programs
Ocean First Institute has had the privilege of educating over 10,000 local Colorado youth about their connection to the ocean, despite our distance from it. By expanding students’ knowledge in the areas of ocean literacy, marine biology, and conservation, they gain skills to better analyze and investigate the world around them.
Over the past year we have expanded our curriculum by creating 21 new classes on topics from evolutionary biology to marine reptiles! Our team of research scientists will share the thrill of ocean exploration and discovery, and explain the role the ocean plays in our everyday lives.
The goal of each course is to teach students about broad ocean science topics, while also providing opportunities for case studies and specific examples. Students will engage in fun hands-on activities that demonstrate our connection to the ocean, while also being inspired to become the next generation of scientists, conservationists, and leaders!
Virtual Programs
Ocean First Institute provides virtual field trip experiences all over the world. We have traveled over 1 million virtual miles to reach over 300,000 students in 5,000+ classrooms within 35 countries and 44 US states! Over the past year we have expanded our curriculum by creating 21 new classes on everything from evolutionary biology to marine reptiles! Our team of research scientists will share the thrill of ocean exploration and discovery and educate students about the role the ocean plays in our everyday lives.
